Although envisioned in the 1950’s, Beaver Creek didn’t see its first skiers until the 1980-81 ski season when it opened along with its first lodging property. With a yearly average snowfall of 325 inches, over 27 feet, the ski terrain is accessed by 17 total ski lifts including two gondola’s, one hybrid lift, 10 high speed quads, one triple chairlift, two double chairs, and one tow lift. The resort is bordered by the Holy Cross Wilderness in the White River National Forest encompassing five mountains; Beaver Creek, Grouse Mountain, Larkspur, Arrowhead Mountain, and Bachelor Gulch. Beaver Creek offers fun, exciting runs for skiers and snowboarders alike.. The longest run, Centennial, is approximately 2.7 miles long. For snowboarders, Beaver Creek Resort is home to three terrain parks.

Getting to Beaver Creek and Avon is relatively easy. Located in the central Rocky Mountains of Colorado, Beaver Creek is a little over 100 miles west of Denver with easy access from Denver International Airport (DIA). The Eagle County Airport, featuring several non-stop flights in winter to major cities throughout the U.S., is only a short 20 minute drive away. An alternative to driving yourself, several transport companies offer transportation to and from the Beaver Creek and Avon area, including Colorado Mountain Express. These companies will drop you off and pick you up at designated locations including many of the top lodging resorts around Beaver Creek.
